The mobile Woodmizer LT40 is capable of milling logs up to 6 metres long and 90cm in diameter. Logs of diameter up to 120cm can be ripped in half, lengthwise, by chainsaw before being loaded onto the mill. The volume of timber sawn in a day varies depending on species and dimensions sawn to.
The Alaskan chainsaw mill comes into it’s own where a log is not roadside or accessible, the mill can be carried in and the sawn timber carried out. It’s a slower process but boards can be cut up to 90cm wide, a single slab breakfast bar!
